Revd. Dr. Joseph Suray

Called to be a disciple to make disciples:

Dear Saints in Christ,

Greetings to you all in the most wonderful name of the Risen Christ.

I, Rev Dr Joseph Suray, introduce myself as the servant who is called and appointed by God, stationed by the Conference to be the Superintendent Minister of the West Pennine Moors Circuit in general with pastoral responsibility for Lammack, Wilpshire, Mellor, St. Pauls, Feniscowles, Darwen Bright Street and Darwen Spring Vale along with chairing the Management Committee at Wesley Hall in particular.

In obedience to the Lord, I surrendered my life to Him, and I began my ministry reaching out to college and university students/graduates for Jesus with evangelism, discipleship, mission and leadership training. I also lectured in different postgraduate theological collages that equipped students to be missionaries, plant new churches and become great leaders to serve the society. Later I was ordained to serve God in Methodist church as a Presbyter and Superintendent Minister in the previous Circuit for the past 10 years.

For me the Bible is the authority for life and conduct and Jesus is the centre of mission with clear dedication and devotion that brings glory to Him. As St Thomas Aquinas said, “In a Christian context, discipleship involves a devoted and lifelong commitment to following and learning from Jesus, striving to grow in spiritual maturity and imitate His teachings and example in all aspects of life.” I am passionate to translate the Nazareth Manifesto of Jesus into practical mission. I am a people’s person and take every moment to share the Gospel whoever I come across.

I am married to Rev Dr Nutan Suray, who is stationed as Superintendent Minister in the Farnworth & Worsley Circuit. We have two wonderful sons: Nikolei working as a manager at Deloitte, Manchester and Nathan working as a Neroscientist at the Aston University, Birmingham. They both know Jesus as their Saviour, and they love the Lord and live life that is worthy unto Jesus.

I am also the founder of the Cross Roads for Human Development charity, registered both in the UK and India. You can find out more about it on the website- https://crhd.org.uk and I will be grateful for your prayers and support-

I know that you are special to God, the one who knows you, loves you and cares for you and therefore He has a purpose for each one of us to be part of His mission. This truly excites me. It is my prayerful desire to see the whole Circuit to know the cost of following Jesus personally in the contemporary world. “Discipleship is a costly commitment to the person of Jesus Christ, involving radical obedience to his commands, authentic action in the world, and participation in the communal life of believers, all in contrast to the cheap, easy-going version of faith known as “cheap grace” It is a response to Christ's call, not a self-generated goodness, and entails a willingness to accept the costly suffering of the cross.” (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)

I look forward to meeting you all in the Circuit. It is my sincere prayer that by God’s grace we all deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Jesus to be better disciples today to make others to follow Jesus to be part of God's kingdom here and now. Therefore, don’t be afraid, don’t give up, be bold, be courageous, keep it up and trust the Lord to press on for God’s glory.

Shalom, my friends Shalom,

God bless you all.
